This oil painting measures 48" x48." It was hand painted in oil on birch plywood in 2014. On the Tri-Boro Bridge, taking a cab from LaGuardia into Manhattan, I grabbbed this image of another cab, layered with the glow of distant electric signs. The bouncy ride on pot-hole pavement made the blue white background and cab's yellow foreground swap places, visible along the roofline. The signature NYC cab-door graphic became a black half-circle. The cabbie’s head hides behind a blue squiggle from the distant background. I said “This should be paint!” And so began my work in motion blur and urban abstraction. FOR PRINTS CLICK HERE.
